Trusted & Experienced

all female staff

“I had searched and consulted with a few other plastic surgeons before I found Dr. Rocheford. I was really surprised that she met with me in-person for my consultation. She’s skilled and knowledgeable at her work. I didn’t hesitate to have her perform my tummy tuck surgery. I’m a super anxious person and Dr. Rocheford responded to all of my text messages day and night – weekdays and weekends. She’s the best choice in my opinion and her work is exceptional in quality.”

“I was a little nervous getting a cosmetic procedure done, but Dr. Rocheford and her staff made it a great experience. The level of care before, during and after was top notch.”

What is IPL Treatment?

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is one of the best options for pigmentation. It works by administering fast pulses of light that are absorbed by the clusters of pigmented cells in your skin where it damages them. Over time, the cells slough off and leave behind only clear healthy skin cells. Our new Lumecca broad-spectrum IPL treatment can treat brown spots and freckles virtually anywhere on the body for truly effective, customized results.

Who is a Good Candidate?

Anyone who is bothered by brown spots and freckles on the skin can be a good candidate for IPL treatment. During a consultation with our laser specialists, you’ll determine whether IPL technologies are best for you and your skin’s type, tone, and concerns. IPL treatment can be used on any area of the body but is most commonly used on areas where patients experience excess sun exposure like:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Shoulders
  • Decolletage
  • Hands
  • Legs
  • Arms

What Can I Expect From Treatment?

IPL treatments can be performed right in our Woodbury, MN office. We’ll begin by determining the right treatment package for you based on your goals and skin concerns. Then, your skin will be cleansed and prepared, and you’ll be given protective eye shields. Treatment begins by administering a specialized handpiece that delivers very fast pulses of light to the treatment area. Once complete, the skin will be treated and made ready for the rest of your day.

IPL Results and Recovery

You can return to your regular schedule immediately after treatment with our Lumecca platform but should make sure to follow aftercare steps according to the instructions. You may experience some redness and swelling afterward, similar to a sunburn. After IPL treatments, it’s extremely important to wear sun protection regularly to prevent photodamage. With no downtime and minimal discomfort, the brown spots will temporarily become darker, then gently slough off within 7 to 10 days. On average, 3 treatments are needed but some patients may require additional treatments for stubborn spots. Your final results will include noticeably clearer, more even-toned skin with a healthy, radiant glow.
