Liposuction Procedure

This is a 40-year-old woman who had bilateral lateral thigh excess.  She is very unhappy with her appearance.  She got self-conscious and was unable to go to the beach without wearing a cover-up.  She did have cool sculpting, which improved one side but actually left her with a contour irregularity.  She is a regular walker and exerciser.  She walks 18 to 22 miles per week.

The patient underwent bilateral lateral thigh liposuction.  At the time of her surgery, she has 2 L of fat removed.   Postoperatively, the patient was very excited about the appearance of her lateral thighs.  She felt very comfortable wearing a swimsuit without a cover-up.

This is a 49-year-old woman from Woodbury, Minnesota who was unhappy with her contour.  She underwent liposuction of the abdomen, inner thighs, outer thighs, and flanks.  Postoperatively, she was very happy with her result.  She had lost over 15 pounds after her surgery and had gone down 3 pants sizes.  She was very happy with her result.

This is a 63-year-old male from Stillwater, Minnesota who was bothered by the appearance of his chest. He did not feel comfortable wearing a shirt or going shirtless at the beach. He underwent chest liposuction bilaterally. At the time of surgery, he had 1400 cc aspirated from both sides. Postoperatively, he did wear compression garment. He is very happy with his contour and felt confident in and out of clothing.

This is a 50-year-old female from St. Paul, Minnesota who is interested in abdominoplasty and flank liposuction. She underwent full abdominoplasty and flank liposuction. At the time of her surgery, the abdominal resection was 3402 grams. The total liposuction aspirate was 4350 cc. Postoperatively, the patient was very happy with her result. Her pants size went down two pants sizes. She felt much more comfortable in and out of clothing and exercising.

This is a 35-year-old patient from Maplewood, Minnesota who presented, interested in liposuction of the abdomen, flanks or “muffin top” and the thighs. She underwent liposuction of the above-listed areas. At the time of her liposuction, she had 2800 cc removed from the flanks or back area. She had 1000 cc removed from the inner thighs total and 2500 cc removed from the abdomen. Following her surgery, she wore compression garment full time for the first 2 weeks and during the day for the final 4 weeks. She was very pleased with her result. She went from wearing size 8 pants to a size 4 pants.

This is a 32-year-old female who presented to the office interested in body contouring. Because she had not yet had children and was planning to have children, we decided to proceed with liposuction instead of an abdominoplasty. The patient underwent full abdominal liposuction and flank liposuction. At the time of her surgery, she had a total of 14 L suctioned. Postoperatively, the patient was very pleased with her contour. She had excellent skin retraction. She now feels very comfortable tucking in shirts and wearing pants that have a belt. She also feels very comfortable in workout clothing and is inspired to improve her fitness at this time.

This is a 37-year-old woman from Maplewood, Minnesota who presented because of concerns regarding her abdomen and the flank area following delivery of her children. The patient had stretch marks from her pregnancies as well as some fatty tissue present on the flanks. At the time of her surgery, she had 3800 cc of tissue aspirated. The abdominoplasty specimen weighed 851 grams. Following her surgery, she was very happy with the results although not every stretch mark could be removed. The majority of the stretch marks were below the belly button and her scar was not visible in the type of underwear she chose to wear or in her swimsuit.

This is a 23-year-old female who underwent a gastric bypass 2 years prior to her presentation. She is from Burnsville, Minnesota. Following her gastric bypass, she lost 206 pounds. She maintained her weight loss for over a year prior to her evaluation. She is interested in rejuvenation of abdomen and legs and the back area. The patient underwent a stage approach to rejuvenation of multiple areas. First, she underwent a belt lipectomy, which is essentially the same as an abdominoplasty on the back. Following her belt lipectomy, she underwent liposuction of the inner and outer thighs. Following her three procedures, she was ecstatic regarding her results. She no longer considers herself “a fat person.” She felt comfortable wearing swimsuits and shorts, which she had previously felt uncomfortable wearing. She went from wearing a size 11-12 pants to a 5-6 pants.
